Smartphone manufacturer OnePlus may be developing its own wallet for cryptocurrency assets, the media found out
Smartphone manufacturer OnePlus is interviewing users about the blockchain and the need to create a wallet for cryptocurrencies. This is reported by Business Insider with reference to the survey. However, it remains unknown whether the survey is actually conducted by OnePlus.

In particular, users are asked:
- do they invest in cryptocurrencies;
- what platforms are used for investing (Coinbase, Robinhood, etc.)?);
- do they use wallets like Coinbase Wallet or MetaMask;
- how do they store the mnemonic phrase;
- bought it/whether they created non-interchangeable tokens (NFT).
According to Business Insider, the smartphone manufacturer can really work on its own crypto wallet. This is due to the sharp increase in the popularity of cryptocurrencies in India — the largest market for OnePlus. Officially, OnePlus has not commented on this information.

It is noteworthy that the survey appeared a couple of days after the Twitter account of the creator of the OnePlus brand Karl Pei exposed hacking. After gaining access to Pei’s page, the attackers advertised an Ethereum-based ICO.
So far, Samsung remains the pioneer of blockchain technologies in the smartphone market. For example, support for the native crypto wallet in Samsung has existed since the Galaxy S10 series in 2019. Moreover, at the end of May, Samsung announced a partnership with the Gemini cryptocurrency exchange and the integration of its services into its cryptocurrency wallet. HTC also targeted the blockchain market. Nevertheless, it is worth noting that HTC’s developments in the field of blockchain have already caused skepticism in the crypto community.
Earlier, the editorial board of BeInCrypto reported on the potential entry of Apple into the cryptocurrency market. As it turned out, Apple’s management is looking for a business development manager, while focusing on the sector of alternative payment methods, including cryptocurrencies.
