The developers of the iconic video games Fortnite, God of War and Call of Duty decided to create a new game with elements of non-interchangeable tokens
Video game developer Big Time Studios has raised $21 million for its new Big Time game with non-exchangeable Token (NFT) elements. This is written by VentureBeat.
It is reported that the studio raised more than $10 million from OKEx Blockdream Ventures, Alameda Research, the Ashton Kutcher Sound Ventures foundation, the parent company of Grayscale Investments-Digital Currency Group, and others. The studio is developing a multiplayer action-RPG game with support for NFT tokens.

The studio is managed by Ari Meilich, the former head of the Decentraland cryptocurrency project (MANA). The studio itself consists of natives of other major gaming companies, such as Epic Games, Blizzard, EA and Riot. For example, the employees of Big Time Studios once contributed to the creation of the cult video games Fortnite, God of War, Call of Duty and Overwatch.
It is reported that the game will allow players to join teams and get rare items. The value of such items will be stored in NFT tokens, says Meilich. Moreover, according to him, the gaming industry, in general, avoids the practical application of the blockchain.
“They seem to be very wary of the risks associated with understanding the NFT society, and failing to implement the technology properly,” Meilich suggested.
However, for now, the release of Big Time is focused only on the PC. At the same time, it remains unknown whether the consoles will receive support for NFT games. The developers plan to conduct beta testing later this year, and the release itself is expected in 2022.
Meanwhile, the Binance cryptocurrency exchange has announced the launch of its own NFT marketplace. The exchange plans to open public access to the new service in June this year. Read about how to buy NFT tokens in the special material of the BeInCrypto editorial office.
